Migration1886 Elizabeth sold the store and inn to John W. Craig and we think that she and the children then moved to London, Ontario.13

In pursuance of the Act respecting Short Forms of Conveyances Between Luke Gibbons of the Township of King in the county of York, Farmer James Gibbons of the Town of Ingersoll in the county of Oxford, Drover Mary O’Brien of the Township of Innisfil in the County of Simcoe, Widow, the Executors of the last will and testament of the late John Gibbons of the Township of Peel in the County of Wellington deceased hereinafter called the parties of the First Part.
Elizabeth Gibbons of the Township of Peel in the county of Wellington, Widow, hereinafter, called the party of the Second Part.
And John W. Craig of the said Township of Peel, merchant, hereinafter called the party of the Third Part.
     Whereas the late John Gibbons who died on or about the 20th day of April 1883 was at the time of his decease duly seized in fee simple of the land and premises hereinafter more particularly described but subject to a mortgage made by said late Gibbons to one John Whyte of the village of Drayton in said County of Wellington, Merchant, dated December 1st 1882 to secure $350 and interest thereon at seven percent said mortgage not being made to secure unpaid purchase money.
      And Whereas the last will and testament of the said late John Gibbons duly made and published in his lifetime contains the following clause – I give and bequeath to my wife and children the use of my estate and property for the term of four years, at the expiration of the term of four years my executors hereinafter named shall if they think it prudent dispose of the property and divide it as follows: To my wife Elizabeth Gibbons, one fourth if she shall remain my widow, to my daughter Mary one fourth, to my son John one fourth, and to my daughter Elizabeth one fourth.
     And Whereas the parties of the first part are the executors of the said last will and testament and the party of the second part is the widow of said late John Gibbons.
     Now this Indenture witnessed that in consideration of the sum of Two hundred and seventeen dollars of lawful money of Canada now paid by the said party of the third part to the parties of the first part, Do Grant wit to the said party of the third part his heirs and assigns forever All and Singular that contain parcel or tract of land and premises situated as being in the Township of Peel in the County of Wellington and Province of Ontario contained by admeasurement three eighths of an acre be the same more or less, and which said parcel or tract of land and premises may be better known and described as follows that is to say being part of lot number thirteen in the tenth concession at the North west angle of said lot and bounded by allowance for road between concessions number ten and eleven one hundred feet and the allowance for road between lots twelve and thirteen in concession number ten one hundred and eighteen feet and the remaining two sides by lines respectively parallel to said two allowances for each.
     To Have and to Hold unto the said part of the third part his heirs and assigns land for his and their sole and only use for ever subject nevertheless to the reservations limitations provisions and conditions expressed in the original part thereof from the Crown and to said before mentioned mortgage.
     The said parties of the first part covenant with the party of the third part that the said parties of the first party will execute such further assurances of the said lands as maybe requisite.
     And the said party of the second part in consideration of the premises and one dollar doth hereby grant release and quit claim with the said party of the third party and his heirs and assigns all dower and all right and title there to which she the said party of the second part now hath with said lands before mentioned or can convey or could in right hereafter or anywise have or claimed whether at common law or otherwise now or ever to the land here for mentioned.

It was common to have a grocery store in the front of a house and Elizabeth had experience from running a grocery and post office in Fergus with John Gibbons, her first husband.; Principal=Patrick J. Quigley, Resident=John Patrick Gibbons22 
Residence1897 London, Ontario, Canada; Daughter, Lizzie is living with her. Patrick is not listed as living here, so it appears they have separated.23 
Residence1898 Hamilton, Wentworth County, Ontario, Canada; Elizabeth and her children, Lizzie and John, have moved to Hamilton in 1898. Although her obituary states she was in Hamilton for 22 years (1901), it appears from city directories that she was there since 1898 and had possibly separated from her husband, Patrick Quigley who was boarding in Britannia House in London.24 
Addressbetween 1901 and 1922 211 Emerald Street North, Hamilton, Wentworth County, Ontario, Canada; Elizabeth and her two children, John and Elizabeth, moved to Hamilton where she bought a house on Emerald Street North - #211. By this time, her daughter, Mary Ann had married and was living in Hamilton. When daughter, Elizabeth, married Arthur Armstrong, they moved in with Bessie. Her death certificate states she lived here for 22 years. Also, according to her father's obituary, she was living in Hamilton in 1902.
At some time, she must have bought the adjoining house, at #213 as she left it to her daughter, Mary Gibbons Monogue, in her will. They both seem to be nice houses, especially for a widowed woman, to buy.3,25

I revoke all former wills I direct that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses be paid by my executrix and executor hereinafter named.
I nominate constitute and appoint my daughter Elizabeth Armstrong and my son- in-law Arthur Armstrong the Executrix and executor of this my last will and testament.

Note: It appears that Mary Gibbons did not ever move into the house at 213, as city directories indicate the house was first occupied by a John Hooper and later by a Arthur Arnold. Death14 April 1922 Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; Elizabeth was "laid out" in her home and then taken to Ingersoll, where she was buried in a family plot owned by the O'Callaghans. Her marker calls her "Bessie", apparently her family nickname. The cause of death was listed as ateriosclerosis secondary to myocarditis and the physician was F.S. Harper. The newspaper obituary states that she died on Friday, April 14th, in Hamilton, however, the death certificate states she died on the 13th.3,29 
Obituary16 April 1922 Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; Hamilton Spectator obit - "Mrs. Elizabeth Quigley, a highly esteemed resident of Hamilton for 22 years, passed away yesterday morning at her residence, 211 Emerald street north. The deceased lady was the widow of Patrick Quigley, formerly of London, Ont., and was a regular attendant at St. Patrick's church. Two daughters, Mrs. Arthur Armstrong, Mrs. Thomas Monogue, and one son, John, all of this city survive. The funeral will take place from the above address, Monday morning at 8 o'clock, to St. Patrick's church, for funeral mass. Interment will be made in Ingersoll, Ont.29 
Burial17 April 1922 Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Ingersoll, Oxford County, Ontario, Canada; The funeral was held at St. Patrick's Church in Hamilton, but she was buried in Ingersoll. The stone states:

Frances was born June 20, 1920 in Detroit, MI to the late Thomas D. and Helen (Stock) O'Callaghan. She married Jacob Kremski. Frances was a very active member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She was the coordinator of numerous wedding rehearsals and ceremonies for the church. She also was a volunteer for many years for St. Joseph Hospital in Flint. Surviving are her son, Michael (Marnie) Kremski; grandchildren, Alexandra, David, and Jacob; and great-granddaughter, Vivienne. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of Frances's caregivers; Lexi, Matthew, Mondeau, and Michael and Debra Woods. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jacob Kremski; and son, J. Daniel Kremski. Those desiring may make contributions to Holy Family Catholic Church. In 1881 the father, John, aged 66, was a grocer and liquor dealer who lived over his stores in the "O'Callaghan Block" on Thames Street. The sons, James and George, were respectively 29 and 26 years of age in 1883, when they launched their business as butchers, grocers, and provisions merchants; in 1887 they employed 8 to 10 hands.
In February, 1886, the brothers were stocking ice cakes for sale in coming summer. As. M. T. Buchanon, chair of Council's Fire, Water, and Gas Committee discovered, 'Messrs. O'Callaghan had opened the front of an old wooden building - (an illegal wooden addition within the fire limits) - for the purpose of storing ice, and that they had piled in more ice than the building would cover, leaving several tons of ice unprotected, which at the time of our visit was suffering materially from exposure to the sun, and as your committee had not the power to authorize the permanent structure of wood, and as it would seem almost impossible for any other kind of structure to be built in time to prevent the ice question from being spoiled, we authorized Messrs. O'Callaghan to put a temporary covering over the ice to protect it from damage till the matter would be laid before the council.' (The Town's 1873 Fire Limits By-Law established a fire-limits zone around the town's core area, within which it required that new buildings, or additions to existing buildings, be constructed of brick or stone.)
The sole additional information about the firm's ice business was a complaint, dated 5 August 1886, that the O'Callaghan's had not taken down their temporary shed by 1st July, as agreed to and as required by the Municipal Fire Limits By-law. The family did have a reputation. In 1878 the town had fined John O'Callaghan, the father, $100 for selling liquor during prohibited times - his third offense. Among the leading business houses of Ingersoll,
whose energy and enterprises have given them a
conspicuous position in the trade is that of
Messrs. J. & G. O’Callaghan, who carry on a
comprehensive business as grocers, butchers and
dealers in provisions. The industry dates its inception
to the year 1883 when a butchery business
alone was started by the Messrs. O’Callaghan
on Thames Street West, comprising a
store 20x70 feet in dimension. However, the
rapid increase in their trade necessitated the
establishment of a branch office, and a store was
accordingly opened up in the Market building, in
connection with the head office. To provide for
the requirements of their numerous patrons,
they kill an average of 12 hooves weekly, in addition
to some 30 head of small stock, while employment
is given to some 8 to 10 hands.
Messrs. O’Callaghan during the last season
shipped 500 head of cattle to the Old Country,
meeting in this lies a gratifying income. Meanwhile,
in 1885, these gentlemen added to their
meat business a grocery store, 15x70 feet in dimensions,
where they carry at all times a full
line of staple and fancy groceries, general provisions,
canned goods and grocer’s sundries, making
a specialty of pure teas of superior flavour
and quality. The finest tobaccos are kept in
stock, while they handle popular and favourite
brands of cigars. The have telephone connection,
and all orders by that means or by mail receive
prompt attention. The gentlemen at the head of
this enterprise are both natives of Canada, Mr.
J. O’Callaghan having been born in St. Kitts,
and Mr. George O’Callaghan in Norwich. Integrity
and promptness in all transactions characterize
this firm, and the success which has already
attended their enterprise is but a deserved
tribute to the character of the gentlemen at the

O'Callaghan for selling diseased meat was resumed at the Police Court Thursday afternoon. The case lasted from two o'clock until after sic and a number of witnesses were examined. W. Ireland swore that he had made an agreement with O'Callaghn that the hog should be delivered on Friday evening or Saturday morning, and his evidence was corroborated by Jas. Sage. O'Callaghan said no such agreement had been made. The magistrate found O'Callaghan guilty of the charge and fined him $5.00 and costs. J. B. Jackson for plaintiff, Thomas Wells for defendant." The police record was filed on June 8, 1899.
(James Sage was George O'Callaghan's nephew who was a butcher also and likely working for George at the time.)15

2. I will and direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses shall be paid as soon as conveniently may be after my death.

The informant was Miss May O'Callaghan of the same address. Burial was May 24, 1932 in Ingersoll, Ontario. Death occurred on May 22, 1932 and he was followed by his physican from May 19th to May 22nd. He as last seen on the day of death which occurred at 11:40am from myocardial insufficiency.23,2

1. That we are applying in His Majesty's Surrogate Court of the County of Oxford for a grant to us of Letters of Probate of the last Will and Testament of George O'Callaghan, deceased, a true copy of the said last Will and Testament being annexed hereto and marked Exhibit 'A' to this our Affidavit.
2. That we are the Executrices...
3. That the said Deceased at the time of his Death resided in the City of Detroit, in the State of Michigan and had no fixed place of abode with the the Province of Ontario.
4. That the whole property of the Deceased of which he died possessed consists of real estate in the Town of Ingersoll, valued for the purposes of the application for Probate at the sum of $6200.00, life insurance policy payable to his estate for $1220.00 and a Savings Account in the Royal Bank of Canada at Ingersoll of $84.64.
5. That the said Deceased has not resided within the Province of Ontario since the month of December, in the year 1928, when he left the town of Ingersoll...where he had resided during his whole lifetime to take up residence in the city of Detroit...where he has ever since resided.
6. That the Deceased was a drover by occupation and has been retired from active business since about the year 1917.
7. That to the best of our knowledge, information and belief and we were very well acquainted wit the affairs of the Deceased, the Deceased owes no debts with the Province of Ontario except the sum of approximately $103.55 to the Royal Bank of Ontario at Ingersoll which debt is secured by an Assignment of the above mentioned Life Insurance Policy for $1220. and funeral expenses owing to F. W. Keeler of Ingersoll.

Jim saw how happy his brother was and so went right off and did likewise. So should all young men. The 'woods is full of nice girls'. Mr. and Mrs. O'Callaghan took in Detroit and Chicago on their wedding tour. We wish them every happiness." He must have been refering to his brother, George, who got married that September. In the same newspaper on the same day: "O'Callaghan-Carroll. At Ingersoll on the 11th instant, at the church of the Sacred Heart by the Rev. Father Molphy, James O'Callaghan of J. A. G. O'Callaghan, fifth son of John O'Callaghan to Kate M., only daughter of the late Nicholas Carroll."
The Ontario Marriage Registration states: "James O'Callaghan, 29, born and residing in Ingersoll, bachelor, butcher, son of John and Bridget O'Callaghan married Kate Carroll, 24, spinster, born and residing in Ingersoll, daughter of Nicholas and C. Carroll. Witnesses: Daniel Carroll and M. Burns of Ingersoll. Married on 11 November 1884 in the R.C. Church in Ingersoll, both parties are Catholic and they were married by Rev. In 1881 the father, John, aged 66, was a grocer and liquor dealer who lived over his stores in the "O'Callaghan Block" on Thames Street. The sons, James and George, were respectively 29 and 26 years of age in 1883, when they launched their business as butchers, grocers, and provisions merchants; in 1887 they employed 8 to 10 hands.
In February, 1886, the brothers were stocking ice cakes for sale in coming summer. As. M. T. Buchanon, chair of Council's Fire, Water, and Gas Committee discovered, 'Messrs. O'Callaghan had opened the front of an old wooden building - (an illegal wooden addition within the fire limits) - for the purpose of storing ice, and that they had piled in more ice than the building would cover, leaving several tons of ice unprotected, which at the time of our visit was suffering materially from exposure to the sun, and as your committee had not the power to authorize the permanent structure of wood, and as it would seem almost impossible for any other kind of structure to be built in time to prevent the ice question from being spoiled, we authorized Messrs. O'Callaghan to put a temporary covering over the ice to protect it from damage till the matter would be laid before the council.' (The Town's 1873 Fire Limits By-Law established a fire-limits zone around the town's core area, within which it required that new buildings, or additions to existing buildings, be constructed of brick or stone.)
The sole additional information about the firm's ice business was a complaint, dated 5 August 1886, that the O'Callaghan's had not taken down their temporary shed by 1st July, as agreed to and as required by the Municipal Fire Limits By-law. The family did have a reputation. In 1878 the town had fined John O'Callaghan, the father, $100 for selling liquor during prohibited times - his third offense. Among the leading business houses of Ingersoll,
whose energy and enterprises have given them a
conspicuous position in the trade is that of
Messrs. J. & G. O’Callaghan, who carry on a
comprehensive business as grocers, butchers and
dealers in provisions. The industry dates its inception
to the year 1883 when a butchery business
alone was started by the Messrs. O’Callaghan
on Thames Street West, comprising a
store 20x70 feet in dimension. However, the
rapid increase in their trade necessitated the
establishment of a branch office, and a store was
accordingly opened up in the Market building, in
connection with the head office. To provide for
the requirements of their numerous patrons,
they kill an average of 12 hooves weekly, in addition
to some 30 head of small stock, while employment
is given to some 8 to 10 hands.
Messrs. O’Callaghan during the last season
shipped 500 head of cattle to the Old Country,
meeting in this lies a gratifying income. Meanwhile,
in 1885, these gentlemen added to their
meat business a grocery store, 15x70 feet in dimensions,
where they carry at all times a full
line of staple and fancy groceries, general provisions,
canned goods and grocer’s sundries, making
a specialty of pure teas of superior flavour
and quality. The finest tobaccos are kept in
stock, while they handle popular and favourite
brands of cigars. The have telephone connection,
and all orders by that means or by mail receive
prompt attention. The gentlemen at the head of
this enterprise are both natives of Canada, Mr.
J. O’Callaghan having been born in St. Kitts,
and Mr. George O’Callaghan in Norwich. Integrity
and promptness in all transactions characterize
this firm, and the success which has already
attended their enterprise is but a deserved
tribute to the character of the gentlemen at the

The Ingersoll Chronicle newspaper in their Thursday, March 7, 1907 issue stated: "In Ingersoll, Wednesday, March 6th, 1907, John Carroll O'Callaghan, son of James O'Callaghan, age 21 years, 6 months. The funeral will take place from the residence of his parents, Bell Street, on Friday at 8:45 am and proceed to the Church of the Sacred Heart and proceed to the Roman Catholic cemetery."; Principal=John Carroll O'Callaghan18,19,20

Trade: Stock keeper of Burroughs Add. Mchs. Father was John O'Callaghan, born Mayo, Ireland, name of mother unknown, born Ireland. Informant was Daniel O'Callaghan (son) of same address). Died on 21 May 1921 of Lobar Pneumonia secondary to getting struck by a streetcar on May 9, 1921. It appears that there was an autopsy and the certificate is signed by the Coroner. Buied in Mt. Elliott on 24 May 1921.21

"John O’Callaghan - There were few if any of the business men of Ingersoll who have shown a more abiding faith in the present and future of our town than Mr. O’Callaghan, and that he has been one of the successful business men of the community is owing to himself. Mr. O’Callaghan first removed to this vicinity 25 years ago and to town 13 years ago. Farming used to occupy his time, and though now a merchant he retains a large farming interest, owning two farms near here. Until the last 4 or 5 years he has been largely engaged in the stock business as a drover, in which he was very successful, but now he confines his business to merchandizing, having two establishments, one devoted to the wholesale and retail liquor trade, the other to groceries and provisions. He has
invested largely in real estate here, owning the O’Callaghan block, where his stores are, as well as the property adjoining, including the ‘McMurray House’, four stores, two dwelling houses, etc. Lately, he has purchased
other business and residence property, and today he is one of the heaviest rate-payers in town. Mr. O’Callaghan has a large and growing business in his various lines. In the store he is assisted by his wife, and also by four or five other parties, and he is one of the few in town who are not perpetually complaining of hard times. Perhaps it is because he is disposed to look on the bright side of things. Certain it is, that no business interests of Ingersoll are more firmly established, and none are doing a more substantial trade."15 
Court Case21 February 1878 Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada; From the Ingersoll Chronicle, February 28, 1878: "Whiskey Trials - On Thursday last, John O'Callaghan appeared before Magistrates King, Robertson and Chadwick, charged by Inspector Cook with selling liquor during prohibited hours. Dan McGinnis swore that he bought whiskey after 8 o'clock on Saturday night. O'Callaghan was fined $100 and costs this being the third offense. The defendant has appealed against the decision of the magistrate."16

This is the same lot that James Gibbons was a tenant on in 1874. By 1879, John had moved to Ingersoll but still owned this land. In 1881 the father, John, aged 66, was a grocer and liquor dealer who lived over his stores in the "O'Callaghan Block" on Thames Street. The sons, James and George, were respectively 29 and 26 years of age in 1883, when they launched their business as butchers, grocers, and provisions merchants; in 1887 they employed 8 to 10 hands.
In February, 1886, the brothers were stocking ice cakes for sale in coming summer. As. M. T. Buchanon, chair of Council's Fire, Water, and Gas Committee discovered, 'Messrs. O'Callaghan had opened the front of an old wooden building - (an illegal wooden addition within the fire limits) - for the purpose of storing ice, and that they had piled in more ice than the building would cover, leaving several tons of ice unprotected, which at the time of our visit was suffering materially from exposure to the sun, and as your committee had not the power to authorize the permanent structure of wood, and as it would seem almost impossible for any other kind of structure to be built in time to prevent the ice question from being spoiled, we authorized Messrs. O'Callaghan to put a temporary covering over the ice to protect it from damage till the matter would be laid before the council.' (The Town's 1873 Fire Limits By-Law established a fire-limits zone around the town's core area, within which it required that new buildings, or additions to existing buildings, be constructed of brick or stone.)
The sole additional information about the firm's ice business was a complaint, dated 5 August 1886, that the O'Callaghan's had not taken down their temporary shed by 1st July, as agreed to and as required by the Municipal Fire Limits By-law. The family did have a reputation. In 1878 the town had fined John O'Callaghan, the father, $100 for selling liquor during prohibited times - his third offense. This is the Last Will and Testament of me John O'Callaghan of the Town of Ingersoll, in the County of Oxford, in the Province of Ontario, Esquire:
1. I direct that my just debts and funeral and testamentary expenses be paid out of the estate by my executors herein after named.
2. I declare that I have provided as I desired for my sons John O'Callaghan and Frank O'Callaghan and for my daughter, Maria Dwyer.
3. I give devise and bequeath to my daughter, Ellen Sage the sum of One Thousand dollars, to my daughter Bessie Quigley the sum of One Hundred and Fifty dollars, to my daughter Belinda Doty the sum of One Hundred Fifty Dollars, to my son James O'Callaghan the sum of One Thousand dollars and to my son George O'Callaghan the sum of One Thousand Dollars. All aforesaid legacies are to be paid in one after my decease and are to form a charge upon my real estate until paid.
4. I give devise and bequeath to my son John O'Callaghan the sum of Five Hundred dollars in trust for the use of my daughter Belinda Doty and I direct my said son John to expend the same for the benefit of my said daughter in such a manner as to be free from the debts or control of my said daughter's present or any future husband the same to be paid him in one year after my decease and to form a charge upon my real estate until paid.
5. The legacies above given are not to bear interest.
6. I give devise and bequeath to my son James O'Callaghan and George O'Callaghan all the rest, residue, and remainder of my real and personal estate to hold to them in equal shares.
Lastly: I hereby nominate and appoint my sons John O'Callaghan, James O'Callaghan, and George O'Callaghan to be executors of this my will hereby revoking and making null and void all wills by me at any time heretofore made.

KILLED AT CROSSING
JOHN O'CALLAGHAN STRUCK BY A LOCOMOTIVE AT THE WONHAM STREET CROSSING.

The Wonham street crossing of the C.P.R. was the scene of a fatality at fifteen minutes to seven o'clock Thursday night. John O'Callaghan, known to nearly every one in Ingersoll, and in years gone by, one of the best known men of Oxford county -- was struck by the locomotive of the construction train that is being run over the new railway, sustaining injuries from which he died a few minutes later.

Mr. O'Callaghan was on his way to attend services in the R. C. Church, when death overtook him.

Standing at the rear of his residence which is but a few yards from the railway, Mr. George O'Callaghan was almost an eye witness of the tragedy. But a couple of minutes before, he parted company with his father, and the old gentleman bade good-bye to the children and the other members of the house and in excellent spirits proceeded on his way to church. He was seen by George O'Callaghan, nearing the crossing just the locomotive steamed into view, going west. He sounded a warning to his father and the old man signalled back as much as to say that he could get over the crossing in safety. The next moment the engine was upon the crossing and as it passed, to the anxious son, whose gaze was riveted in that direction, came the knowledge that his father had been injured, and he hurried to the spot. Before he arrived there he saw Mr. McDonald, his next door neighbour, tenderly raise the prostrate form from the side of the road, where the relentless engine had hurled it. Mr. O'Callaghan was still alive and with the assistance of several who gathered round, he was carried back to the residence of his son. Two doctors were called, but he passed away without regaining consciousness.

From the fact that he was hurled to the north side of the crossing. Mr. O'Callaghan was evidently nearly over the tracks when he was struck. Mr. McDonald was close at hand when the accident happened and he was the first one at the injured man's side.

Mr. O'Callaghan although in his 88th year, was sprightly and enjoyed the possession of all of his faculties.

A feature that adds to the sadness of his death is the fact that only during the afternoon had his son John, of Clare, Michigan, whom he had not seen for some time, arrived on a visit. He was met at the depot by his father, whom he accompanied as far as his brother, George's, just before the accident occurred.

The late John O'Callaghan was born in Crossmolina, Mayo County, Ireland, June 24th, 1814. At the age of 28 years, he came to Quebec, and carried on business supplying meat to the men working on the Beauharnois Canal, and subsequently on the Welland canal, at St. Catharines. He settled in Norwich in 1850, where for fourteen years he carried on a large and remunerative business buying cattle, as well as engaging in farming. From Norwich, he moved to Dereham [township], where he also followed farming for several years. He next removed to Ingersoll, and carried on business as a dealer in meat, groceries, liquor, etc., in Phelan's old stand, long destroyed by fire. He built the large brick block on the west side of Thames Street and north of Charles Street, in 1874, and he purchased the McMurray House and Stables two years later.

Deceased was a devout Roman Catholic, and he was vain to tell that he was never sick or never took medicine, and he was hale and hearty up to the time of his death. He is survived by the following family: John of Clare, Mich.; Mrs. E. Sage, Ingersoll; Mrs. W. Dwyer, and Mrs. F. H. Doty, London; Mrs. P. Quigley, Hamilton; Frank, James, and George, Ingersoll.




Also on October 3 in the same paper: "O'Callaghan - In Ingersoll on Thursday October 2nd, 1902, John O'Callaghan, aged 88 years, 3 months, 6 days. The funeral will leave from his late residence, Thames Street, on Sunday, October 5th at 10:15am and proceed to the Church of the Sacred Heart, thence to the R.C. Cemetery."35 
Burial5 October 1902 Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Ingersoll, Oxford County, Ontario, Canada; John and Bridget are buried together in Section B, Row F. It states John died Oct. 2, 1902, age 89 years. However, the church record says he was 87. The obituary from the Ingersoll Chronicle on 03 October, 1902 stated the following: "In Ingersoll, on Thursday, Oct. 2nd, 1902, John O'Callaghan, aged 88 years, 3 months, 6 days. The funeral will leave his late residence, Thames Street, on Sunday, October 5th, at 10:15am and proceed to the Church of the Sacred Heart, and thence to the Roman Catholic Cemetery. "36,34

He was male, white, married to Rosa Smith and was born on 10 February 1836, and was 84 years, 2 months, 28 days old. He was a Feed Barn Proprieter, born in Ireland to John O'Callahan (born Ireland) and Bridget Syrne (sic) also born in Ireland. Informant was Mrs. John O'Callahan of Clare, Michigan. Medical Certificate states that John was cared for from May 2 to May 8th and was last seen by Dr. Sanford on May 7th. The cause of death was chronic interstitial nephritis of indefinite duration secondary to chronic prostatitis. Burial was on 11 May 1920 in Clare and Undertaker was J.
