| Birth | 28 September 1895 | Ontario, Canada; This is the date that appears on the 1911 Census. There is a document, filed in 1933 in Toronto that states the following: Delayed Report of birth states: Margaret Ethel Irene Gibbons, born on 26 Sept 1904, female, in Maryborough Twp., Perth county. Father James Gibbons was living in Tralee at the time of the birth, farmer, and mother was Margaret Ellen Marigold. Information was provided by Elizabeth Estelle Stuser of Toronto, her sister, and she stated that she was 27 years of age when her said sister was born and that she was at home at the time of the birth and has a distinct recollection of the birth. Delared in the city of Toronto on 21st of March 1933". I don't believe this is an accurate record as there was a child named Ethel Irene born Sept. 28, 1894 or 1895 (depending on what record one uses) and in the 1901 and 1911 Censuses, there is only one child named Irene. No children born after 1897 are listed with this family. Also, there is no evidence in the Censuses of an Elizabeth Estelle being born in 1877, I believe she is the child listed as Elizabeth born in 1881.3 |

| Death | before 1851 | King Township, York County, Ontario, Canada; From a newspaper article written in 1838 about Patrick Gibbons - "Then the oldest daughter was poisoned by eating blood root in mistake for pepper or krinkle root, a spicy edible root to be dug up under wet leaves in the forest, and eaten as a relish in the spring season. From this mistake she died, and another tragedy clouded the home life, calling forth the sympathy of neighbours. These two children were buried in what is now known as the Anglican Cemetery on the hill top as you approach Newmarket from the west, on Eagle Street." Although I believe Honora was the second oldest daughter, I believe that this story referenced Honora. Her brother, Michael, died at about age 15 and it was these two who are buried in the Anglican Cemetery. Neither child is listed in the 1851 Census.; Witness=Patrick Gibbons3 |
