| Obituary | 25 March 1995 | "Jean Coghlan McChesney, a past president of the Junior League of San Francisco, died of cancer on Thursday. She was 73. A fourth-generation Californian, Mrs. McChesney was born and raised in San Francisco. She earned her undergraduate degree from Stanford University, where she met her future husband, F.W. Peter McChesney. They lived in San Francisco until 1987, when they moved to Rossmoor. While raising three children, she stayed active in numerous charitable and civic community organizations. But her real love was bridge. She was a life master of the card game, and played at least twice a day. In addition to her husband, Mrs. McChesney is survived by her son, Brooks McChesney of San Mateo; daughters Kerry Campbell of Houston and Jennifer McChesney of San Francisco; and three grandchildren."3 |
