| Obituary | 8 March 2025 | Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; "Shirley (nee Young) ARMES Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley on February 28, 2025, at the age of 90. Survived by her husband of 70 years, Arnold Armes, and loving mom to Jim and Chris, Carol and Mark, and Kathy and Pete; devoted grandma to Kori, and Kyla and Andrew; great-grandma to Zara, Felix, Dom, and Owen. She will be deeply missed by her brother and friend, Jim Young, all her very special nieces and nephews, furry family members, and many caring friends, most notably Verna Staples, who was her closest friend and confidant.
Shirley was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was the most dedicated mom and grandma, the best cook, and the ultimate hostess. The house was filled with family and friends for every occasion while she selflessly tended to everyone's needs. Words cannot express how much she will be missed.
As per Shirley's request, no funeral service will be held at this time; a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Donations in Shirley's memory may be made to Ladybird Animal Sanctuary (www.ladybirdanimalsanctuary.com) or an animal rescue of your choice. Notes of sympathy and condolence can be expressed at www.donaldvbrown.ca."3 |
