Relationship2nd great-granduncle of Patricia Ann Monogue
FatherEdward Joseph Bishop b. c 1810, d. 9 Sep 1892; In sorting out the two "Robert Bishop" males, one married Bridget Cox and one married Bridget Kielly. I believe that the one who married Cox was the son of Edward Bishop and Bridget Peddle. They named their first two children Edward and Bridget and also resided in Salmonier where it Edward and Bridget lived. Also several of the children and in-laws of Edward Bishop and Bridget Peddle were baptismal sponsors for the children of Robert Bishop and Bridget Cox.

Robert Bishop1

(1778 - March 1780)
Last EditedDec 15, 2015
Relationship4th great-granduncle of Patricia Ann Monogue
FatherJames Bishop3 b. s 1750
MotherMary Priest2 b. 1748
Birth1778 Bridport, Dorset County, South West England, England4
Baptism29 November 1778 Bridport, South West England, England; This is not complete proof that this is the Robert Bishop who married Sara Barry. However, if the assumption is made that he was born in Bridport, there appears to be only two Robert Bishops baptized in that city between 1765 and 1785 - one in 1778 (this would make him 28 when he married) and one in 1767 (this one would make him 40 when he married).3
DeathMarch 1780 Bridport, South West England, England; There is no proof that this is the son of James and Mary Bishop as the burial record only states that a Robert Bishop was buried on the 7th of March, 1780. It appears that it might say "Inft." after the inscription, which may indicate Infant.; Witness=James Bishop, Witness=Mary Priest5
Burial7 March 1780 Bridport, South West England, England5

"18 May (1807) Married Robert Bishop of Bread Port (sic), Dorset in England to Sara Barry of Trepassy. Present Thomas Daly and Margaret Fennely."; Principal=Sarah Barry3
Children
Note Assuming that Robert Bishop (who married Sarah Barry) was born in Bridport (as his marriage record stated he was from there), there are three Robert Bishops listed in the Bridport, Dorset Christening records between the years 1865 and 1885.
1. son of John and Ann Bishop, baptized March 13, 1867 (this would make him 40 years old if he married in 1807).
2. son of James and Mary Bishop, baptized November 29, 1778. It appears that this Robert likely died as an infant, as another Robert, son of a James and Mary Bishop was born in 1882.
3. son of James and Mary Bishop, baptized January 11, 1782. (this would make him 25 when he married if 1807). This seems to be the most likely candidate, but without further proof, we cannot be sure.

The children listed for Robert Bishop and Sara Barry have been gathered from other researchers, currently I have no documentation that all of these are actually their children.2
