Deathcirca 1838 Ontario, Canada; The cause of death is not known but in a newspaper article written in 1938 about the family the death of an older daughter of Patrick's is discussed. There is the possiblity that this is a mistake and the information about the daughter's death is actually the story of Bridget's death. It could have been daughter, Honora, however, she would have only been three at the time. Anyway, the story is that this person was poisoned by eating blood root in mistake for pepper of krinkle root, a spicy edible root dug up under wet leaves in the forest. This person is said to be buried in the Anglican Cemetery on the hilltop as you approach Newmarket from the west on Eagle Street. During this time, only 6 Catholic families lived in the Newmarket area and a Catholic cemetery had not yet been built.; Witness=Patrick Gibbons2,3

Baptismal record for Bridget is in 1863, so she would be 16, not 13. No birth record has been found for a Patrick, listed as 12, but there was a Mary, who would have been 12. John Burke, stepson, was baptized in 1854, so he would be 26, not 22. Also, it appears that Mary would be much older as her first child, William was born in 1845.; Principal=Simon Hogan3

1935 aged 81. His father James Butler died December 29th 1889 aged 85.
His mother Margaret Butler alias Neary died July 1st 1896 who was buried
in Michael's Church.1
