S. in 1782 at Duplin County under the draft; served under Capt Robert Merritt and Col Kenan; volunteered again after that service was finished; moved to Effingham County, now Bulloch County, immediately after the war; has been a resident of Tattnall County for the last 30 years where he now lives. In an amendment to the declaration in August 1833, he modified his service information and gave his birth as 11 March 1759. The claim and amended claim were approved 5 Oct 1833.2
